World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. This bonus may be more than the damage that an upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing, it can have some negative consequences too. In the case of items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade a helm or chest, it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. item upgrade means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling upgrade item can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character is, the more value you get from each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid conditions with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. For instance splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. item upgrade can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant like a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. As with other upgrades to items, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying new ones. It can be done by a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
When the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that won't be replacing anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). When choosing the items to upgrade, players should be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
